Christmas for the City 2023 is Next Week!

“Oh, he's making a list and checking it twice…”

Who is?

Santa is!

While in our commercial-based Christmas holiday mindset, we can rest assure that Santa Claus is doubly checking his list, yet, it is even more comforting to know that our God has written our very name on the palms of His hands (Isaiah 49:16) and even the hairs of our head are all counted (Luke 12:7) which means we are 100% guaranteed to be remembered by our Savior.   Those lyrics from the song, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, is a reminder of all the preparation that goes into our Christmas festivities on the part of Old St. Nick himself.  Granted, while songs like this do warm the heart, especially at this time of year, let’s make sure that we do our part to fully remember the birth of our Christ during this Christmas season.

Between now and Saturday, December 16th, planning is busy, final touches are being made, and details are being wrapped-up, yet we as volunteers must remember the work and ‘The One’ who is worthy to receive the central focus at Christmas for the City 2023.  This is to ensure all attendees experience a meaningful Christ-centered celebration; therefore, we will not forget, nor replace our Christ in Christmas.

We pray for every aspect of Christmas for the City, every volunteer, and every detail of our individual lives (even every hair numbered on our head) to be preserved and protected as we make our final arrangements to be at the Benton Convention Center in just a few days!  May we remember to do our part, share Christ and the event details with our friends, co-workers, family members and more!

Oh, there is much more in store than what you could ever ask for from Santa because we serve a God who hears, sees, and already knows our very heart’s desire.  May your every prayer (and a few things on your Christmas list too) receive a special response from God as we each make our way to Christmas for the City 2023!

One last thing - don’t forget our evening of worship planned for the night prior on Friday, December 15th with refreshments (Chick-fil-A sandwiches) at 5:45 pm and worship from 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm at the Benton Convention Center.

With expectation of seeing each of you soon,

Victoria
